Basic English word order is:
ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY GO WHERE:
- between the subject and verb I often work at home
- after BE She is usually happy
- after the FIRST auxiliary or first word of the auxiliary We are never going to do that.
NEGATIVES GO WHERE:
- after an auxiliary verb She does not like fish.
- after “to” in an infinitive I like to not cook sometimes.
- before base form when base form is the second verb She let me not finish my HW.
